Job DescriptionThe Director, Corporate Communications is responsible for leading the company’s Strategic Communications agenda, shaping a clear and consistent corporate voice across internal and external audiences. This role partners closely with executive leadership to deliver high-impact Executive Communications, strengthen corporate reputation, and ensure alignment across the enterprise. The role also serves as the right hand to the Group Vice President of Investor Relations & Communications, acting as a trusted strategic partner and extension of leadership.
WhatWould You Do? The Specifics.
- Develop and execute the Corporate Communications strategy, integrating internal, external, and executive messaging to support business priorities and long-term vision.
- Establish and deliver
Executive Communications, including company-wide announcements, leadership messaging, and major business updates, with agency partners. - Develop and manage the Internal Communications Strategy, driving engagement across associates, optometrists, and corporate teams through clear, timely, and compelling messaging.
- Lead Media Relation sand Executive Thought Leadership, managing press engagement, media inquiries, and proactive storytelling to elevate brand and leadership visibility.
- Partner closely with Investor Relations to support
Investor Relations Communications, ensuring consistency with public disclosures and corporate messaging. - Direct Crisis Communications planning and response, serving as a trusted advisor during sensitive or high-profile situations.
- Oversee Corporate Social Media Strategy, the corporate website,and corporate digital channels, working closely with agency partners, ensuring alignment with brand, compliance, and governance standards.
- Provide Cross-Functional Leadership, collaborating with Marketing, Legal, Investor Relations, HR, and business leaders to ensure consistent and effective communications across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and manage internal communications talent and agency partners to deliver high-quality, measurable outcomes.
- 8+ years of experience in corporate, strategic, or executive communications, media relations, or related fields.
- 2–4 years of people or team leadership experience.
- Proven expertise in executive communications, media relations, crisis communications, and internal communications strategy.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and strategic storytelling skills with experience supporting senior leadership.
- Proven ability to translate complex information, concepts, or processes into clear, concise, and compelling written materials and presentations.
- Highly experienced in PowerPoint, Word.
Education
- Four‑year college degree or equivalent experience. (Required)
- Master's Degree (Preferred)
Travel Requirements
- 20% will be required to travel to company events, including but not limited to annual kick‑off meetings, summer CE/OD meetings, mid‑year (back‑to‑school) meetings, and December DM/AOD meetings.
