The Design Build Operations Manager oversees the planning, execution, and successful completion of landscape construction projects. This role involves managing budgets, schedules, jobsite resources, and personnel while ensuring that projects meet client expectations and company standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and team members throughout the project lifecycle. Out of town travel may be required.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, or related field preferred or 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in landscape installation. (3-5 years)
  • Experience in landscape project management or a similar role.
  • Experience with large scale projects including commercial, municipal, or large residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction, horticulture, and hardscaping techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Problem solving. Ability to handle unexpected challenges such as budget overruns, delays due to weather, or supply chain issues while keeping the project on track.
  • Attention to detail. Ensuring quality control and precision in the work done by teams.
Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Execution
  • Attend project review meetings, working with Project Foreman & landscape designers through the planning process of upcoming jobs
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with designers and clients to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Coordinate ordering of necessary materials, equipment, biffies, dumpsters, etc.
  • Oversee all aspects of landscape projects, including site preparation, soft scaping, hardscaping, and sod installations.
  • Assist in the coordination of necessary Change Orders in a timely manner.
  • Arrange trucking for project materials.
2. Team Leadership and Coordination
  • Supervise and lead landscape crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Assign responsibilities and provide training to team members as needed.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure safety compliance.
3. Client Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and Project Foreman, keeping them informed of progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to source materials and manage deliveries.
  • Prepare and present project updates and reports to clients and senior management.
4. Quality Control and Compliance
  • Ensure all work adheres to company quality standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct pre, during and post site inspections, punch‑list items and any other required paperwork.
  • Stay informed about local regulations, permits, and environmental guidelines applicable to landscaping projects.
5. Budget and Cost Management
  • Monitor project aspects to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Monitor overtime.
  • Track material usage and labor costs.
6. Problem‑Solving and Risk Management
  • Meet with subcontractors as needed.
  • Anticipate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve on‑site challenges, such as unexpected site conditions or equipment malfunctions.
Job Type
  • Full‑time (Seasonal) 40+ hour/week
  • $32‑$38/hour

Schedule

Licenses and Certifications

  • MN DOT Medical Card (Required)
  • Certification in Landscape Management or Construction (e.g., CLM, CLT, or similar) preferred.
  • OSHA Safety Certification or similar preferred
