Substitute Custodian

Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Substitute Custodian at Park Rapids District Schools. The Substitute Custodian will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires flexibility and a commitment to ensuring that facilities are well-maintained during the absence of regular custodial staff.

Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the school facilities.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with district policies.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to promote a positive school environment.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Availability to work on short notice and flexibility in scheduling.
- Must pass background checks as required by district policies.
