Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, customer‑focused individual to join our HR team in Duluth, MN. This position offers the opportunity to advance skills in various aspects of human resources, including HRIS processing, training coordination, administrative support, employee benefits administration, recruitment, and employee communication.
Responsibilities- HR Information System (HRIS):
Assist in processing transactions and maintain accurate records. - Training & Development:
Assist in the coordination of training needs, including managing registration processes and updating training records. - Administrative Support:
Provide essential support to the HR team in daily operations. - Employee Benefits:
Assist with the coordination and administration of employee benefit programs. - Recruitment and Staffing:
Assist in recruitment and selection activities. - Communication:
Respond to inquiries from employees and candidates, ensuring a positive experience.
- One (1) year of experience performing program support functions such as human resources or payroll that demonstrates the following:
- Experience processing human resources transactions in an HRIS system.
- Reading comprehension sufficient to understand and correctly apply written material (e.g., collective bargaining agreements, personnel policies and procedures) to business processes.
- Computer software skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook) sufficient to prepare and edit reports, compile and review reports, create informational materials, and create employee and applicant letters and memoranda.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to perform basic math and statistical calculations sufficient to calculate salary, severance, vacation accrual, etc.
- Previous HR experience in the State of Minnesota’s employment systems, including skill in SEMA4 software.
- Experience with the State of Minnesota’s training systems (Pathlore, ELM).
- Experience with leave administration processes and procedures such as FMLA, ADA, and Minnesota Paid Leave.
- Experience providing employment benefit information to employees.
This position occasionally requires lifting and/or carrying materials such as file folders and ledgers. While the job is predominantly sedentary, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary.
