Salary Range: $24.00 - $38.50
Department Details: 50% travel within the metro area and Eastern Minnesota
ResponsibilitiesThe food and nutrition consultant guides and supports interdisciplinary services to meet the spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs of each resident with primary responsibility for project work within resident services, including serving as the subject matter expert for dietary operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide compliant guidance on policies and procedures and ensure alignment with federal and state regulations and the organization’s philosophy and standards.
- Develop and provide training, resources, and instruction to customers to meet goals and outcomes.
- Consult with center dietary leaders regarding policies and procedures; advise centers on food service and clinical nutrition issues through collaboration with region consultants and staff.
- Offer guidance on quality, management, budgeting, staffing, products and equipment; assist centers through consultation and support of regional and local leaders.
- Deliver education on food and nutrition services via workshops and training materials; develop training materials as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments and committees; keep knowledge and practices current in the field.
- Work with federal and state regulatory agencies and participate in reviews and updates of policies, procedures, manuals, and training methods.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- One year of management and consultation experience in food and nutrition preferred; executive chef experience preferred; prior work in hospitals, food service, education, or regulatory agencies preferred.
- CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) and CFPP (Certified Food Protection Professional) or a licensed registered dietitian required.
- If not CDM certified, Serv Safe required within the first year of hire.
