Job Summary
Coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering related production problems encountered in the assigned area of an aircraft manufacturing facility. The role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, as the candidate will partner closely with production personnel. It serves as the engineering representative on the factory floor, translating design into reality while working in a dynamic environment that includes stairs, trip hazards, high noise, chemical hazards, and entry into aircraft during various build stages.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to maintain current knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities in the assigned area.
- Confers with quality control, material, manufacturing, and other department personnel to provide technical support.
- Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
- Investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
- Examines, measures, inspects, or tests defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications.
- Consults with project engineers to obtain specialized information, evaluates findings, formulates corrective action plans, and coordinates implementation.
- Maintains records or oversees the recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented.
- Serves as a member of the Material Review Board to determine the disposition of defective or damaged parts.
- Ensures that all assigned work areas are kept clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
- Applies the 6S principle.
- Complies with all paperwork that governs job duties.
- Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis, and develops dispositions for production non‑conformances.
- Applies knowledge of design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues.
- Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues in support of executing final engineering solutions.
- Identifies documents, analyzes reported problems, and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommends and manages resolution.
- Develops and implements product/process improvements.
- Supports the product team and participates in design reviews.
- Represents the engineering community from initial build through the production environment.
- Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Cirrus standards.
- Designs interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) required.
- Relevant engineering experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a cross‑functional organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Windchill PDM and Creo/Pro‑E.
- Experience in system validation & verification, including assembling validation, writing system test procedures, conducting integration testing, and troubleshooting problem reports.
- Previous MRB authority.
- Hands‑on experience with materials and manufacturing processes.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Ability to work both independently and within a cross‑functional team.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with Chief Engineers and management peer groups.
- Out‑of‑the‑box thinking to deliver required technical solutions to meet program goals.
- Excellent technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
