LHB is looking for a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our Energy and Industry team. The position will be based in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices.
Position Summary- Work effectively in hybrid work environment
- Work closely with current and prospective customers to create new business opportunities and promote business development
- Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting
- Actively participate in virtual and in‑person project and department team meetings
- Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors
- Meet client objectives and exceed their expectations
- Supervise other engineers, designers, and technicians
- Direct and review project drafting
- Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Perform construction site visits and field observations, review RFIs and submittals
- Prepare written technical reports
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 12 years of prior structural engineering experience with concrete, structural steel, masonry, timber structures, specialized analysis & inspections
- Professional Engineer licensure and ability to become licensed in additional states upon request
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAAD
- Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions
- Completion of pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check & drug screen) upon offer
- Passed 16‑hour Structural Engineering (SE) Exam
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with pipeline, power delivery, mining, pulp and paper, and/or other industrial work
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
- MSHA Certification
- Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently
- Good oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability
This position's anticipated base salary range is $110,000‑$140,000 annually. This position is eligible for year‑end bonuses. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
