Overview

Job Purpose/Description
Community Service Orientation Coordinator program.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, select, and train student leaders (March/April)
  • Speak on behalf of CSO program at first-year student orientation sessions (9 dates in May/June)
  • Create marketing video and materials to recruit student participants
  • Communicate with potential CSO participants and their families
  • Arrange for supplies, schedule rooms, and other CSO program needs
  • Plan daily schedule for all involved in CSO and facilitate its implementation, including:
  • Set up volunteer sites and facilitate ongoing communication with site contacts
  • Arrange and coordinate evening programs and entertainment
  • Implement program evaluation
  • Meet regularly with a member of Campus Ministry staff to articulate progress towards meeting goals, and dialogue about areas of concern
  • Show hospitality, responsibility, professionalism, creativity, enthusiasm and integrity in their work
  • Represent the Campus Ministry Center and all its programming in a positive way to students, parents, staff and faculty, and community members
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a participant and/or student leader for CSO program
  • Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills needed as well as enthusiasm for service
  • Exhibit strong organizational and detail skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work professionally and enthusiastically with faculty/staff/community/parents and students
  • Satisfactory computer and social media skills
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Be self-motivated and reliable
  • Be an organized and effective leader
  • Be supportive of the ecumenical and interfaith nature of campus ministry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a student leader for the CSO program
Special Instructions to Applicants
  • Must be a current CSS student
  • Does NOT require work study eligibility
  • Previous experience as a student leader for the CSO program
  • Approximately 2 hours per week during the academic year. Approximately 5-10 hours per week during May 15-August 26.
  • Full time during August 27 to September 1.
