Position: West Coast Regional Sales Manager (Automatic Equipment)

Job Title:

West Coast Regional Sales Manager - Automatic Machinery

Location:

Portland, OR preferred with 60% travel within the territory

Territory: AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, , MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA & WY

The RSM will be responsible for managing sales efforts in the territory through direct sales to end-user customers and sales through channel partners.
This role requires a proven track record in industrial equipment sales, strong relationship-building skills, and familiarity with the packaging industry. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating both direct-to-end-user sales and indirect sales through distribution and channel partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end-user customers and channel partners.
  • Conduct regular customer and partner visits to understand application needs and promote solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of automatic secondary packaging equipment across various industries.
  • Use Salesforce CRM to manage pipeline, forecast sales, track customer interactions, and report performance.
  • Provide company sales presentations to end users and channel partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, customer support, engineering) to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Attend industry trade shows and regional events.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industrial equipment sales experience, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Proven success in managing both direct-to-end-user sales and channel partner relationships.
  • Proficient with Salesforce CRM and familiar with Miller Heiman strategic selling techniques.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently within the assigned territory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
