A leading developer of high-performing digital games is hiring a talented Spine 2D game animator in Atlanta, GA. Join a creative and collaborative team building visually stunning and high-earning games that blend exceptional art, engaging math models, and compelling player experiences. You will bring characters, environments, and effects to life through dynamic animation and optimized asset integration across multiple gaming platforms.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Create high-quality Spine 2D animations for characters, symbols, UI elements, and visual effects
- Rig and animate characters and assets with clean, efficient Spine setups
- Develop and refine polished animation cycles including idles, transitions, interactions, special animations and effects
- Apply strong fundamentals in color theory, composition, lighting, and motion
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and developers to refine animation direction and gameplay clarity
- Iterate on animation based on feedback while maintaining quality and consistency
- Adapt animation style as needed across different game themes and visual directions while maintaining artistic quality and consistency
- Contribute creative input during ideation sessions and assist in visual ideation for new and existing titles
- Develop artwork and animations for charitable gaming, historical racing, and entertainment markets
Experience & Education
- Demonstrated hands-on experience and excellence in animation using Esoteric Spine
- At least two recent years of full time commercial experience animating 2D characters, backgrounds, symbols, and effects for games, interactive media, or similar real-time environments
- Slot game animation experience is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Game Art, Technical Art, or a related field—or equivalent industry experience.

- Passion for animation
- Strong sense of motion, weight, and animation polish
- Excellent understanding of art pipelines and 2D animation principles as applied in Spine
- Receptive to feedback and passionate about continuous learning
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across disciplines
- Creative problem solver who can adapt visual styles as required
- Strong sense of color, light, and typography
- Ability to rapidly conceptualize and visualize new ideas

- The role is based in Atlanta, GA.
- It is in-office, 5 days per week.
