We are looking for a skilled AutoCAD AND/OR Brics
CAD designer who can transform a given set of tools and requirements into a fully functional, aesthetically pleasing product that can be efficiently manufactured using available methods, while adhering to customer constraints and machine limitations. This is a full-time employee (W2) with competitive compensation including base salary, bonus, and benefits. This is an on-site role at Duluth, GA.
- Design tool layouts and assemblies within tool kits, toolboxes, and related storage systems, ensuring efficient organization and accessibility.
- Develop 2D and 3D drawings that accurately represent tool placement, fit, and functionality within custom tool control systems.
- Update existing drawings with design changes and improve models to meet company standards for efficient manufacturing.
- Revise and maintain project drawings to ensure consistency and accuracy for the manufacturing and assembly floor.
- Follow Company drawing revision guidelines to ensure all drawings remain current and accurate.
- Review customer documentation, plans, and specifications as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Maintain detailed notes, design calculations, and other relevant documentation for future reference.
- Support related tasks such as CAD database management and PDM maintenance.
- Troubleshoot problems and figure out the best way to test and overcome them.
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or Certificate from a technical trade school in CAD, drafting, mechanical design, or a related field — or equivalent experience and training.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Brics
CAD required. - Strong 2D and 3D CAD/Design skills to create very detailed designs that are both functional but esthetically pleasing. Experience creating detailed layout and design drawings from sketches, concepts, and specifications.
- Design for manufacturing (DFM) experience using the most efficient and least labor-intensive method to produce kits. Familiar with laser cutting, waterjet cutting, CNC machining, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
- Skilled in PC use and Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel proficiency for analyzing and manipulating data accurately.
- Knowledgeable in standard drafting practices, engineering documentation, and design procedures.
- Must be open to working on-site at Duluth, GA.
- Experience in tool kit design or foam design is a strong plus.
- Excellent spatial visualization ability to effectively envision how individual components come together in a unified design.
- Ability to maintain strong attention to detail and the ability to focus on complex design work for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills — interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
- Strong team-oriented work ethic and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and organize multiple tasks effectively.
