Assistant Director – Childcare Center

Hire as Assistant Director, Supporting the School Director in all operational, educational, and compliance aspects of our childcare center.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the school’s budget and achieve financial success to support overall company profitability.
  • Hire, supervise, and train staff, ensuring a high‑quality teaching team.
  • Operate the school in compliance with state licensing standards.
  • Assist teachers with developing and executing curriculum, activities, and lesson plans that promote child growth and development.
  • Purchase supplies, equipment, and food within budgetary constraints.
  • Develop community partnerships and marketing strategies to promote enrollment.
  • Ensure the safety of children in our care at all times.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the School Director.
  • Identify, schedule, interview teacher candidates, and build networks of future talent.
  • Conduct classroom observations, evaluations, and provide feedback that motivates teacher growth.
  • Manage team to execute the TLE curriculum in alignment with brand standards.
  • Use a growth mindset to train, coach, and develop staff for future leadership.
  • Listen objectively to employee concerns and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Create and communicate weekly schedules for staff.
  • Manage classroom ratios and daily operations to maintain safe learning environments.
  • Handle new‑hire paperwork and maintain employee files in compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Build and communicate center schedules ensuring appropriate ratios and effective labor budgeting.
  • Lead tours and enroll prospective families, highlighting curriculum strengths and teacher quality.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Execute “parent pleasers” initiatives and utilize the Show & Tell App for family engagement.
  • Audit and maintain all student and teacher records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Ensure the physical environment meets health and safety standards in full compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Coordinate relationships with state licensors and conduct center evaluations.
  • Handle accident/incident reporting and medication management.
  • Conduct monthly emergency safety drills.
  • Manage new customer administration and files in compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Participate in financial administration, including budgets, P&L statements, and labor percentage analysis.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of pre‑school teaching experience and child development training.
  • High School Diploma; TCC or CDA certification preferred.
  • Team builder, organized, with excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexible, energetic, and able to juggle multiple duties.
  • Detail oriented with strong planning and organizational abilities.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel) and quick learning of new programs.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Minimum 1 year of center leadership/management experience (preferably 2+ years).
  • Professional teaching experience with infants to preschool children (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and regulations.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (highly preferred).
  • Exceptional professional conduct, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to multi‑task with attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure.
