Summary
The Assistant Manager – TPL Sales & Operations supports:
1) development of marketing strategies and execution of programs to attract prospective customers, and
2) creation of innovative sales tools and materials deployed across the U.S. region to aid client growth and retention.
- Marketing Strategy & Material Development
- Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategies based on objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors
- Compile lists describing product or service offerings and current capabilities in each logistics mode (e.g., ocean, air, rail, freight)
- Coordinate marketing activities or policies to promote the GLOVIS brand, products, or services
- Develop direct and indirect marketing tools and materials
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs
- Identify appropriate social media channels for business needs and tailor campaigns to target audiences
- Collect and analyze data related to social media campaigns
- Lead social media development and provide guidance on optimizing profiles (e.g., GLOVIS website, Linked In)
- Track performance of social media initiatives and implement changes to improve business results
- Sales Cycle Support & Development
- Develop sales tools and repeatable sales processes across the Americas Region
- Translate internal and external requirements into packaged selling and marketing solutions
- Assist in identifying second-level customers with faster sales cycles and lower risk
- Collect and analyze historic bids and monitor upcoming bids in the Region
- Support the integration of selling tools (prospecting software, CRM) into Region routines for pipeline visibility
- Prepare and launch e-mail communications to potential targets
- Participate in other strategic and tactical initiatives as assigned
- Research & Reporting
- Prepare executive status reports with summarized data analysis and trends
- Collect primary and secondary research, synthesize findings, and report
- Conduct market research and recommend business options, counter measures, and problem-solving initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
$80,000 - $89,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

- Intermediate MS skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and database management systems
- General understanding of the Supply Chain Management and logistics industry
- Understanding of the full range of Freight Forwarding services, including movement scheduling, monitoring and control, cost optimization, and related requirements
- Ability to establish business plans and drive new business developments/projects
- Proficiency with PCs
- Bachelors Degree Required
- 6 - 9 years of direct experience in SCM, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Accounting/Finance
- 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience
- 7 - 11 years in SCM, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Accounting/Finance (preferred)
- Ability to sit at a desk or computer for extended periods
- Repetitive hand use for writing, typing on scanner, tablet, and laptop
- Domestic travel up to 20%
- Lift up to 20 lbs, carry up to 20 lbs
- Stand/walk

Working & Environmental ConditionsThe work environment is typical of an office setting with low-level noise exposure. This position is located in the Duluth, GA office. Communication with employees and field partners will primarily be via phone and email.
