FCA is seeking and Overnight Residential Counselors for our emergency shelter that provides short-term housing, case management and crisis intervention to runaway and homeless youth in Nassau County.

• Provide informal counseling to residents and be available for discussion of problems, goals, etc.
• Supervise each resident in maintaining his or her daily responsibilities as per the Program Guidelines.
• Orient new residents to the house rules and regulations.
• Assign sleeping arrangements for new admitted residents.
• Provide wake up calls and deliver morning messages to residents, as it relates to their individual case plan.
• Transport residents to school or work as needed.
• Plan and prepare breakfast on a daily basis.
• Conduct assessments and intake of youth in the absence of the case manager.
• Conduct fire drills and room searches as assigned.
• Maintain necessary paperwork on a regular basis (petty cash, sign outs, time sheets, receipts, etc.)
• Assume other responsibilities as needed to ensure the effective operation of the program.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth
• Basic computer skills with MS Office
• Valid and clean driver's license
