Internship Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management

Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.

As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting high‑impact initiatives within the People team. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the clean energy industry, real project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to a fast‑growing organization.

About the Role

MEI is seeking a People (HR) Generalist Intern to support our growing People team during a dynamic period of company growth. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to the core functions that support the employee lifecycle — including recruiting, onboarding, employee experience, talent programs, and People operations.

This role is ideal for a student interested in human resources, organizational development, business operations, or people strategy who wants to learn how a modern People function operates inside a scaling company.

The intern will work closely with the People team and gain visibility into how we build systems, programs, and processes that support our employees and business leaders.

What you’ll do

The People Generalist Intern will support a range of initiatives across the employee lifecycle and gain exposure to how a growing organization builds effective People programs and processes. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with recruiting coordination and candidate experience, including scheduling interviews and supporting communication with candidates
  • Support new hire onboarding activities, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for incoming employees
  • Contribute to People operations projects, including documentation, process improvements, and maintaining internal resources or SOPs
  • Assist with internal communications, including drafting employee updates, program announcements, and People team messaging
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and company programs such as intern events, training sessions, or team meetings
  • Help track and organize People data and metrics, including recruiting and employee lifecycle information
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on HR practices, tools, or policies to support People team initiatives
  • Provide general project support to the People team as we continue building scalable systems and processes
  • Responsibilities and project ownership may vary depending on academic level and prior experience.
What we’re looking for
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute meaningfully to a team
