Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions – Transfer to join the Admissions team.
The Assistant Director will recruit and advise prospective undergraduate students to Elmira College. This position includes extensive recruitment travel and the ability to interview prospective students, conduct presentations, and review and process applications for students from a specific geographic territory. The Assistant Director maintains responsibility for geographic territory, including oversight of inquiry and applicant statistics and cultivating relationships with students, parents, school counselors, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role. This position requires occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
- Ability to conduct oral presentations about Elmira College to a variety of constituents, including prospective students and parents, school counselors, and college personnel.
- Maintain responsibility for geographic territory, including oversight of inquiry and applicant statistics and cultivating relationships with students, school counselors, faculty, staff, and alumni.
- Develop and maintain individual recruitment files/records.
- Participate in on-campus and regional college events.
- Application review and scholarship consideration.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum 2 years direct Transfer Student Recruitment
- Transcript and Credit Evaluation experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to represent the college in a professional manner in interacting with students, parents, alumni, school counselors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new database administration software systems.
- Individualized travel at least 8-10 weeks per year, and ability to wok occasional evening and weekend hours

COMPENSATION62,355 annually
