After School Program Teacher – JOB DESCRIPTION
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Site Coordinator, After School Program Teachers will assist with the supervision and activities of the program participants.
Duties and FunctionsThe essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
- Teachers within the After School Program shall assist with childcare in a designated student to teacher ratio in the program.
- Responsible for complying with policies as outlined in the Parent and Staff Handbooks.
- Ensure student safety and follow appropriate emergency protocols.
- Assist other teachers, assistants and aides as necessary.
- Maintain a specific weekly work schedule to accommodate the program’s effectiveness.
- Work with program leaders to develop and implement enriching after school activities for children at the appropriate age level.
- Provide supervision to students during all aspects of programming, including both inside classroom space and gym and designated outside play areas.
- Keep the Site Coordinator, Program Administrator and Director informed of any specific behavioral problems or program issues.
- Assisting children during homework time by walking the room and offering help.
- Interacting with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks.
- Maintaining an organized and tidy space and encouraging students conduct themselves appropriately.
- Ensuring that all school rules, policies, and guidelines are followed.
- Any other duties as required by the Program Director for the position.

Qualifications- EEC Qualifications equal to Group Leader
- Minimum three years experience working with children.
The qualifications listed above are preferential to the duties and responsibilities as listed in the job description, but may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.
Work Schedule and CompensationThis position is paid hourly (non-exempt) the program is open from school dismissal – 6:00 PM M-F. Salary starting at $20.00 per hour. We are open 7:30 – 6:00 during school vacation weeks and professional development days as well as have a summer program.
Final Schedule to be determined by the Program Administrator and the Director of Child Care Services.
