White Lake School District is advertising for a K-12 Physical Education and Health teaching position. Our district is located directly in between Mitchell and Chamberlain; it is at Exit 296 on Interstate 90. There is some housing available in town, including a brand new apartment complex located right next to the school. The community has all the amenities needed: a gas station, grocery store, bank, eating establishments, and much more.
For those looking to live outside of the community, the convenient location is an easy 30 minute drive along interstate 90 from Mitchell, SD. This commute is very common among staff members.
The school is very small; we have 120 kids in our PreK-12th grade class. The average class size is 8 kids. Teachers enjoy the small class sizes and personal experience they get with all of their kids. Our staff has a culture of collaboration, professional development, and commitment to students. We offer mentoring for new educators through the South Dakota Teacher Mentor Program, along with in house coaching and mentoring.
For those interested in extra curricular activities, we participate in SDHSAA sports. We tend to have open coaching positions at levels ranging from 5-6 basketball, up to varsity level sports in football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, wrestling, track and golf. We recently started an FFA chapter, and have other leadership opportunities for our students such as Legacy Leaders, and National Honor Society.
For the K-12 Physical Education and Health teaching position, the teacher will be in charge of PE classes for kids ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade. The teacher will also need to teach our high school health course as well.
Anyone interested in the position is encouraged to contact Principal/Superintendent Will Gottlob tlob.us or . White Lake School District is an equal opportunity employer.
