A small CPA firm located in downtown St. Charles has an immediate opening for an Accounting Intern or a seasonal Associate. This is a 20-30 hours/week contractual (3-4 months) position with a potential opportunity to assume other accounting responsibilities and grow into a year-round position if desired. We specialize in serving small businesses and individuals for all their accounting and taxation needs and guiding our clients through their ongoing or foreseen life changes.

Primary responsibilities will include:
- Individual tax return preparation, including working through the current year’s information, comparison to the prior year(s), and compiling a list of missing items necessary to finish the return.
- Assistance with individual-level business activities (Schedule C, Schedule
E) and simpler business tax returns, depending on prior experience. - Performing basic tax research and special projects as needed.
- Communicating with the team to ensure timely completion of assignments.
The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with tax forms, an outgoing personality, and a “will do” attitude. Previous experience in public accounting or a tax office is a plus. On-the-job training will be provided.
