Location: Kingswinford
Quality Controller - £38,000 - £42,000
Kingswinford
You live for quality.
You read the drawing properly.
You understand weld symbols.
You don’t wait to be told something isn’t right.
You make the decisions.
As a Quality Controller, every job is like a mini project.
These are not small machine shop components. These are large, heavy parts. The kind that require oversight from start to finish.
As a Quality Controller, you’re involved from goods inwards right through to final inspection. It’s a mix of in-house manufacturing and subcontract work, so you’ll be reviewing paperwork, checking dimensional reports, inspecting on the shop floor and making sure everything ties back to the specification.
You’re not ticking boxes… You’re protecting the job.
This is an autonomous Quality Controller role day to day:
You manage your own workload.
You prioritise.
You raise NCRs and stand by them. You manage calibration and support audits because standards matter to you.
You report directly to the QHSE Manager here.
He’s been doing this a long time. Proper audits. Nuclear standards. The sort of experience you only get by being there when customers are asking the hard questions.
He’s nearing retirement.
Which means, as a Quality Controller, you won’t just be holding the fort. You’ll be learning from someone who understands why the systems exist, not just how to follow them.
They want to invest in the right Quality Controller…
Auditor training.
Courses.
Development.
A clear path.
If you commit to them, they will commit to you.
The hours are 37 per week.
If you’re an early bird and 6am suits you, you’ll be finishing around 2pm.
If you prefer an 8 or 8.30 start, that works too for a 4 or 4.30 finish.
For the right Quality Controller, there is flexibility. It’s about outcomes, not clock watching.
You’ll need experience in heavy engineering. Around three years or more. You’ll need to be confident reading technical drawings and using inspection equipment such as Faro Arm or equivalent, alongside standard metrology tools.
This Quality Controller role suits you if you have backbone, if you’re comfortable challenging when something is wrong, if you can make a call without looking over your shoulder, if you prefer ownership to micromanagement.
If you’re a Quality Controller who wants progression rather than routine inspection, and you like the idea of each job being a project in its own right, this could feel like the right move.
This role is exclusive to Marshall Harmony, you won’t be contacted by any third parties. If you’d like more info or want to talk it through, just drop us a message, tag someone who’d be perfect for this below or send your CV to the email above.
