Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager – Resident Engagement to lead and champion meaningful tenant and resident involvement across our Housing & Assets services. This is a high‑impact leadership role where you will ensure residents influence decision‑making at every level and that engagement leads to real, measurable service improvements.
AboutThe Role
As Team Manager – Resident Engagement, you will:
- Lead and embed a council‑wide approach to resident engagement, co‑design, consultation and scrutiny
- Develop and deliver Dudley’s Resident Engagement Strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, in particular the Transparency, Influence & Accountability Standard
- Build strong, trusted relationships with residents, elected members, colleagues and partners
- Champion innovative and inclusive engagement methods, reaching seldom‑heard communities
- Ensure the resident voice influences policy, service design and operational decision‑making
- Provide leadership, performance management and support to the Resident Engagement Team
- Monitor engagement KPIs, tenant satisfaction measures (TSMs) and feedback trends to drive continuous improvement
You will play a key role in strengthening governance, accountability and resident trust across housing services.
About YouWe are looking for someone who brings:
- Extensive experience in resident engagement, scrutiny or co‑design within social housing or a similarly regulated environment
- Experience of developing and delivering a Resident Engagement Strategy
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, including the Transparency, Influence & Accountability Standard
- A proven track record of managing and motivating teams, budgets and performance
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with residents, members and partners
- The ability to lead with integrity, working in line with public‑sector values and the Nolan Principles
- Experience of working with tenant panels, scrutiny groups, TRAs or customer assurance boards
A CIH Level 5 qualification (or willingness to work towards it) is essential.
