Position: Project Manager - Retail Fit Out
Project Manager – Construction / Retail Fit-Out

West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Dudley, Birmingham)
£40,000 – £50,000 + Car Allowance

Overview

An excellent opportunity to join a busy, project-led organisation delivering refurbishment and retail fit-out projects across the UK. You will take full ownership of assigned projects and client accounts, ensuring safe, efficient delivery from initial survey through to completion.

This role suits an experienced Project Manager with a background in retail fit-out, shopfitting, or construction, who is confident managing site activity, coordinating contractors, and working directly with clients.

A long-established UK organisation with a strong track record of delivering multi-site programmes. The business is recognised for reliability, quality, and long-term client relationships, offering a fast-paced, hands-on environment supported by an experienced delivery team.

Location

Based in the West Midlands with regular UK travel. Commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Stourbridge, West Bromwich, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage projects from initial survey through to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget

* Attend site, define project requirements, and plan works effectively

* Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring safe and compliant site operations

* Act as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams

* Monitor progress, manage risks, control costs, and oversee project documentation

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

* Proven experience in retail fit-out, shopfitting, construction, or similar project-led environments (retail or commercial sector experience strongly preferred)

* Strong understanding of the full project delivery lifecycle, from design and manufacture through to installation and completion

* Demonstrable experience managing clients and stakeholders directly, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams

* Familiarity with EPICORE would be a distinct advantage, though it is not essential

* Strong planning, communication, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills

* Flexibility to travel across the UK and work occasional out-of-hours when required

Qualifications

* SMSTS qualification desirable

* CSCS Manager Black Card preferred

* For an exceptionally strong candidate, the absence of a CSCS Manager Black Card can be accommodated, with internal resources available to support compliance

Above all, practical experience and a proven ability to manage site operations and deliver projects effectively are the most important requirements
