The role involves assessing mental health needs of individuals referred to the team and leading the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions.
ResponsibilitiesTo be responsible for assessing the mental health needs of individuals referred to the team and to lead in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions to address that identified need.
Person Specification Education/Qualifications- NMC RMN Registration
- Higher qualification at least degree level in a relevant subject
- Post graduate training relevant to Mental Health
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with staff at all levels both internal and external, patients, carers, external agencies
- Specialist skills in assessing and formulating individual intervention plans for adults with mental health difficulties
- Ability to use own initiative and work without supervision
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Effective IT skills and administrative skills to support accurate record keeping
- Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
- Excellent risk assessment and management skills
- Ability to deal with challenging situations
- Post registration experience of working in multidisciplinary community mental health services
- Knowledge of government directives and current policies
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation including MHA 1983
- Knowledge of the safe storage, administration and monitoring the effectiveness of psychotropic medications
- Experience of organising own workload and managing competing demands
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines including adult and children safeguarding legislation
- Understanding of psychosocial interventions
- Experience of using a range of therapeutic interventions in a mental health context e.g. CBT, SFT
- Organisational and time management skills
- Flexibility of working hours
