Group Support Volunteer - Dudley

Purpose of volunteering role:
- To support the Let's Talk Service with their Dudley Community Activity Walk
This is a voluntary role which is unpaid.
Black Country Healthcare is a major provider of NHS mental health services for more than a million people across Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton:
- Adult and older adult mental health services
- Mental health services for children and young people
- Community healthcare for children, young people and families in Dudley
We re proud to be rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, and that many of our staff have won awards for their work.
Main duties of the jobThis Voluntary role will be supporting the Let s Talk Service, of whom aim to reduce loneliness and isolation within the community.
We are looking for a volunteer who can support on their community groups and activities within Dudley. Must be able to travel via public transport/car (travel expenses will be reimbursed).
Must be available on the below session/time:
- Priory Park Walking Group - Runs weekly, every Thursday, 12:30-1:30pm

We are looking for volunteers who have these qualities:
- Willing to complete Walk Leader Training
- Reliability:
Commitment to a regular volunteer schedule to provide consistent support - Live in the Black Country/within a reasonable travel distance to site.
- Volunteers must be over 18
- Friendly and welcoming good communication skills, able to speak with clients and staff and build rapport.
- Able to follow confidentiality policy and professional boundaries to keep themselves and patients safe.
- Enthusiasm and desire to help improve experiences of patients and improve wellbeing.
- Computer skills able to complete e-learning

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering with us; this will depend on the nature of the role and the circumstances of your offences.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
