Position: Environmental Health Officer / Senior Environmental Health Officer

We are seeking a motivated and committed Environmental Health Officer to join our Food Safety team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a service that plays a vital role in protecting public health and ensuring high standards across the borough.

You will be part of a team that undertakes a wide range of work, including:

  • Food Safety and Food Standards inspections
  • Infectious disease control
  • Investigation of food complaints
  • Smokefree compliance
  • Health & Safety in food businesses

We are a busy, professional team that values collaboration and continuous development. You’ll have the chance to broaden your skills and experience, with support to achieve at least 20 hours of CPD each year.

Hours:

37 per week (Alternative working patterns may be considered but are not guaranteed)

Salary:
Grade 9 & 10: £39,152 – £46,142 (depending on experience)

Location:

3-5 St James’s Road, Dudley, DY1 1HZ

(Currently this position offers a mixture of home, office, and district working)

Although most work is undertaken in core office hours you will be expected to work flexibly and routinely outside of core office hours to ensure service delivery.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
  • A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and business use insurance as travel across the borough is essential.
