Our client, a leading construction and development business, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team. You'll play a key role in the day‑to‑day transactional finance function, with a particular focus on batching, coding and inputting. SAGE experience is essential, and a working knowledge of payroll will be a distinct advantage.
 
The Opportunity
 
Process high volumes of purchase invoices: batching, coding and accurate data entry
Maintain ledger accuracy and support supplier statement reconciliations
Resolve supplier queries promptly and professionally
Assist with payroll preparation (e.g., timesheet collation, data checks, starters/leavers support)
Support month‑end tasks (posting journals, basic reconciliations) as required
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and controls
Use SAGE daily to ensure data quality and on‑time processing   
About You
 
SAGE experience (essential) with strong data accuracy and attention to detail
Confident handling batching, coding, and high‑volume input
Practical understanding of payroll processes (weekly or monthly)
Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to deadlines
A team player with clear, professional communication skills
Previous experience in a fast‑paced construction/manufacturing or similar environment is beneficial (not essential)
