Compensation: £43,260 / year (base). Transient Elite Engineers: £44,805 (Realistic earnings £50k–£55k). Transient Non-Elite (Dual Fuel Only): £38,250.

Retention bonus:
Up to £60,000 payable after three years, subject to business performance and individual targets.

This role involves transient work across regions with potential 1, 2, or 3 weeks away per month, discussed at interview.

Summary:

We’re looking for talented engineers to help expand our field gas and electric metering capability across the UK. You can join as a Transient Elite Engineer (with Warrant Officer duties) or as a Transient Non-Elite Dual Fuel Engineer (no warrant or debt visits).

• Deliver high-quality installation, exchange, commissioning, and maintenance of gas and electricity metering systems and communication equipment.
• Work predominantly in the commercial sector with opportunities to upskill in areas such as Three Phase, Medium Pressure, Half-Hourly / CT Metering, Gas U16–U40.
• For Transient Elite Engineers: undertake friendly debt resolution visits and alternate between on-site Warrants and acting as the Warrant Officer (always supported).
• For Transient Non-Elite Engineers: focus purely on technical metering work with no warrant or debt visits.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, metering standards, and company procedures.
• Take accountability for stock, tools, and company vehicle care; maintain professional, customer-focused interactions.
• Be open to ongoing development through technical training and mentoring opportunities.
• Travel and work away from home as part of transient patterns; travel time paid at overtime rates; sustenance and transient payments apply.

• Essential qualifications/experience:
  Smart Metering (Dual Fuel), CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent), Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent).
• Desirable: MET4 – Small Commercial Gas Metering, Current Transformer (CT), Three Phase, REGT1 – Medium Pressure.
• Full UK Driving Licence; pass colour blindness test; pass a DBS check.
• Willingness to travel for transient work (1–3 weeks away).
• Ability to work in a team and deliver high-quality service with a can-do attitude.

• Ability to conduct both standard and warrant-related visits with empathy and professionalism.
• Strong teamwork, compliance, and continuous learning mindset.
• Stock, vehicle, and equipment management.
