We're supporting our client, a global, leading manufacturer based in Stourbridge, who are looking to appoint a Design Engineer to strengthen their growing engineering team. This role is heavily design-led and would suit an engineer who enjoys developing bespoke technical solutions, producing high-quality drawings, and supporting projects from concept through to manufacture.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, hands-on manufacturing environment where engineering design is central to the business.

• Produce bespoke engineering design solutions in line with customer and project requirements
• Develop detailed technical drawings, layouts, and documentation to agreed standards
• Support projects from initial concept through design, manufacture, and delivery
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering, quality, and compliance standards
• Liaise with production, quality, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Review and update design documentation in line with engineering changes
• Identify and manage design risks, escalating issues where necessary
• Maintain accurate design records and documentation within company systems
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards
• Support other departments with technical input where required

• Recognised engineering qualification (Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
• 3-5 years' experience in a design engineering role within a manufacturing or project-based environment
• Strong proficiency in engineering design and technical drawing (2D and/or 3D CAD)
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and engineering standards
• Organised, able to manage multiple design tasks simultaneously
• Confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams
• Proactive, self-motivated, and keen to develop technically
• A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a small business environment
