Mechanical Manager

We're seeking a proactive and technically skilled Mechanical Manager to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a wide range of mechanical systems across our estate. This role has responsibility for pressure systems, medical and non‑medical gas infrastructure, heating systems, refrigeration and F‑Gas assets, oil‑related plant, underground services including drainage and mains infrastructure, and domestic services maintenance.

• Oversee delivery of all mechanical engineering services within the remit, ensuring statutory, technical and contractual requirements are met.
• Manage pressure systems and gas systems, and lead the operation and maintenance of heating, refrigeration, F‑Gas equipment, oil‑fired plant and drainage infrastructure.
• Ensure domestic services maintenance is completed effectively and aligned with the Water Manager where relevant.
• Provide technical leadership and support to engineers and contractors; maintain robust documentation and safe systems of work.
• Collaborate with other specialist managers to resolve operational issues, improve resilience and support long‑term asset planning.

• Experienced mechanical professional with an HNC, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong background in pressure systems, heating, gas systems, refrigeration/F‑Gas and wider building services.
• Committed to ongoing professional development and confident in leading teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance and customer service.
