Overview
As a Humanities Teacher, you will inspire pupils across Key Stages 3 to 5 through engaging teaching in subjects such as History, Geography, Politics, and Religious Education. Working with learners who may have a range of SEND needs-including ADHD, ASD and trauma-related barriers-you will create a supportive, adaptive and trauma-informed classroom environment where every student can succeed.
This role is ideal for a calm, compassionate professional with high expectations and a passion for helping young people grow academically and personally.

Responsibilities- Teach Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3‑5, ensuring high‑quality curriculum delivery aligned with national standards.
- Plan creative and engaging lessons, assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records to address underperformance.
- Support the pastoral, social, and emotional needs of students, prioritising wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Adapt teaching to meet diverse cognitive and SEN needs within a trauma‑informed, holistic framework.
- Contribute to Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans, ensuring personalised support for each student.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers, attending meetings and ensuring consistent communication.
- Take part in wider school life, including extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
Essential teaching qualification. - Strong expertise across Humanities subjects (History, Geography, Politics, Religious Education).
- Proven success teaching from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, with evidence of strong pupil progress.
- Effective classroom management, empathy and the ability to create a nurturing, inclusive and safe learning environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
