Are you a passionate educator with a heart for inclusion and a drive to empower every child to succeed?
We're looking for a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QTOD) to join our dedicated team at Ashwood Park Primary School
, part of Dudley’s Local Authority Enhanced Provision
. This is a unique opportunity to support and champion primary‑aged pupils with severe to profound D/deafness in a nurturing, inclusive mainstream setting.
As a QTOD, you'll be a vital part of our school community, working daily with pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your role will blend specialist teaching with inclusive practice, ensuring every child has the tools and confidence to thrive.
You will:- Deliver tailored one‑to‑one and small group sessions focused on language development, listening skills, and curriculum access
- Collaborate with families to personalise communication approaches – whether oral, SSE, or BSL
- Partner with NHS audiology teams
, the Cochlear Implant Centre
, and families to optimise listening experiences using the latest hearing technologies - Champion each child's academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social inclusion
