Location:
Dubuque, IA
Duration: 12 months with possible extension

We're looking for a Quality Engineer to support fabrication operations, including Skid Steer boom, main frame, and pre paint areas. In this role, you'll perform in process inspections, manage non conformance, and work directly with welders, inspectors, and production teams to maintain high manufacturing and safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Conduct in process quality checks and audits.
• Document defects and take immediate containment actions.
• Manage suspect materials and coordinate with the Quality team on disposition.
• Ensure compliance with welding, fabrication, and inspection standards.
• Identify and help resolve recurring quality issues on the shop floor.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Weld, or Quality Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Manufacturing experience-fabrication or welding preferred.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of quality systems and inspection criteria.
• Ability to collaborate closely with operators, welders, and engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with welding processes, jigs, fixtures, and fabrication tooling.
• Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or other continuous improvement tools.
• Experience working in a union environment.

Work Environment

• On-site in active production areas with frequent shop floor presence.
• PPE required.
• Occasional flexibility in start/end times to support shift handoff.
