Janitor - Night Shift

Overview

To maintain the facility and grounds in a manner consistent with the requirements of the complex facility manager while meeting all local, state or federal requirements.

• Ensure cleanliness of offices and production areas:
  Maintains a clean work area following master sanitation schedule to ensure requirements are met in all offices, bathrooms, and break-rooms. Meeting timelines and completing daily reports to verify completion.
• Manage chemicals and cleaning supplies inventory:
  Monitor usage and cleaning supplies, while effectively communicating levels to manager to ensure no shortages. Read and understand safety labels and preventative practices as well as precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances by following all established safety procedures including but not limited to Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) guidelines to reduce manual handling risks.
• Participates as a member of the team:
  Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure BEST practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. Fosters cohesiveness regarding major issues and works with the team to resolve issues and reinforce actions to achieve synergy within the organization.
• Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives:
  Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems, including consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives:
  This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Janitor and is not intended to limit thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended to describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

  Must be able to walk, stoop, sit, squat, climb ladders and stairs as well as lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs. in weight, lifting from floor to crown multiple times daily, perform simple grasping and fine finger manipulation of small objects, work comfortably in confined spaces. Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
  Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection, hair net, safety glasses, dust mask and any other protective equipment required or needed.
