We’re building a small, thoughtful team of companion caregivers to support a fascinating, active older adult in Dubuque, IA — someone who loves conversation, history, ideas, movement, and living life on his own terms.

This is not traditional caregiving.

There’s no bathing, toileting, or hands-on care.

This role is about presence, pacing, curiosity, and dignity — and doing it as part of a 24-hour care team
, not solo.

• Keeping good company (conversation is the main event here)

• Driving to meals, outings, tennis, and interesting errands

• Cooking simple meals or going out to eat

• Exploring books, stories, history, and ideas together

• Being present while he stays active (tennis, skiing, movement)

• Helping with transitions only if needed (jackets, gear, getting settled)

• Light tidying so the home stays comfortable

No personal care for now. No medical tasks. No hovering.

This is a 24-hour care arrangement

, not one person.

• We’re hiring multiple caregivers

• Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available

• Overnight shifts are sleep-permitted

Schedules are built collaboratively

• Daily Pay (earned wage access)

• $16.00–$18.00/hour

You’ll do great if you are:

• Calm, curious, and comfortable with big personalities

• Able to go with the flow without needing control

• A good listener who doesn’t rush or “correct”

• Comfortable with repetition, tangents, and humor

• Reliable, independent, and respectful

• Comfortable being part of a team
  , even when working solo on a shift

Caregiving experience not required.

Backgrounds in education, history, hospitality, customer service, arts, or academia are a plus.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license

• Reliable,
  clean, odor-free vehicle (driving is part of the role)

• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation

This isn’t task-based caregiving.

It’s relationship-based support
