PurposeThe Behavior Technician position is a multi-faceted role providing mental health treatment and support services, therapeutic behavior intervention services, psycho‑social rehabilitation, intensive intervention services, and education services. Services address individualized mental health and/or educational needs as determined by the client’s schedule.

- High school diploma or equivalent and at least 21 years of age for working with children/adolescents.
- 3 years or more of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree or master’s in social work, psychology, nursing, or related human services.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, or prior ABA experience.
- Must complete agency QBHS training upon hire.
1,200 hours per year (12 months)

- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Complete all required training, education, and development activities.
- Demonstrate accurate implementation of clinical competencies.
- Provide behavioral health services following the client’s treatment plan, including CPST and/or TBS services as qualified.
- Collect data, complete progress notes, and communicate client progress following internal procedures.
- Monitor and report progress toward ISP/ITP, IEP, or treatment plan objectives to supervisor.
- Work collaboratively within a treatment team and implement feedback.
- Assist with hygienic tasks such as diaper changes, toilet training, and physical supervision of children.
- Participate in staff development, education, and training sessions.
- Attend video reviews and complete self‑evaluations.
- Seek and apply professional feedback.
- Meet productivity requirements.
- Model professional behavior, use professional language, and treat staff and clients with respect.
- Prepare for each session, ensuring valuable treatment moments.
- Maintain “mix and vary” boxes and associated materials.
- Conduct reinforcer assessments and deliver reinforcement per ABA principles.
- Deliver social skills sessions as assigned.
- Implement behavior plans directed by supervisors.
- Identify and report when additional interventions are needed.
- Substitute for other staff as required.
