Education
A high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree in business or accounting preferred.

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the assigned credit fulfillment function; coordinating work within the unit or department, as well as with other departments and units; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; assisting the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks to support department/unit operations, and assisting in the training of new Commercial Loan Assistants.
EssentialDuties
- Assists with loan application processing tasks, e.g., obtains required information, compiles data, orders credit reports, as directed, and rudimentary credit analysis.
- Collects/reviews all required financial data prior to submission to the Credit Department and assists with preparation of loan presentation or request as necessary.
- Interfaces with vendors as needed to obtain required documentation to close the loan, including, but not limited to, ordering appraisals, ordering title work, UCC search, certificates of good standing, insurance forms (property, title, etc.), Ag equipment lists, environmental checklists or lawyer prepared documents as needed.
- Creates hypothecation agreements, notice of commencements, subordination agreements, and applications.
- Reviews executed loan documents for accuracy and completeness prior to funding a loan; prepares tickets to fund loan; confirms funding.
- Verifies a wide variety of credit information which will become part of the credit file, e.g., insurance forms, etc.
- Maintains required information, gathers missing documentation and notifies appropriate personnel of credit information deficiencies as appropriate.
- Dispenses credit information within prescribed policy.
- Provides information for, and assists in the preparation of, various loan reports as directed; maintains a number of activity logs to generate weekly or monthly reports to assist the Commercial Loan Officer.
- Reviews/maintains pending loan maturities 90 days prior to maturity date to ensure there are no administrative past dues and to eliminate last‑minute extensions.
- Partners with Commercial Loan Officer and/or Credit Department personnel to resolve past‑due loans, lines of credit, and delinquent taxes.
- Manages annual reviews (demand and loan review); identifies/report significant changes in the financial status of borrowers, guarantors, or appraised values of real estate as appropriate.
- Reviews assigned Commercial Loan Officer’s portfolio on a weekly basis.
- May meet with customers to obtain signatures and to close approved loans.
- Prepares a variety of correspondence, letters and forms, including commitment letters, letters requesting updated financial information, etc.
- Interfaces with loan review/regulators and/or auditors as required or directed by the Chief Credit Officer.
- Assists with management of imaged credit‑file documents to ensure all appropriate information is updated and maintained, such as credit memos, correspondence, etc., and all outdated information is removed (as per bank policy).
- Contributes to the company’s growth and customer satisfaction by helping customers to resolve problems with their banking transactions.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
