Position: Seasonal Event Worker (Beverage Operations)

Seasonal Event Workers assist in the implementation of the City of Dublin’s signature events including the Independence Day Celebration and Dublin Irish Festival. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Community Events Administrator with beverage operations and technological support
.

Scheduling / Availability
  • This is a seasonal position that works from approximately April-September.
  • Successful candidates must be available to work July 4 and July 13‑August 7.
  • Successful candidates are expected to be available to work 30‑40 hours per week.
    • Please note that working hours may be longer during event weeks.
  • Successful candidates must have the ability to work long hours during special event operations.
    • Please note that event hours may occur outside of normal business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have no formal supervisory duties but may direct the work of other seasonal employees and volunteers.

Examples of duties
  • Communicate daily, in a timely and professional manner, with staff and the public.
  • Create, print and manage installation of all festival beverage menu signage ensuring sponsor brand logos are accurate.
  • Update festival beverage and vendor location maps, work with signage team to schedule in‑house printing, and communicate special printing needs to outsourced vendors.
  • Support signage team with updating, designing and installation for Independence Day Celebration and Dublin Irish Festival.
  • Manage festival beverage menus within “Square” payment system including running reports to update post‑festival beverage sales data report.
  • On‑site management and quality control of beverage locations during Dublin Irish Festival set‑up operations and teardown including logistics photography, overseeing inventory tracking, and guiding teams on setup/teardown.
  • Ability to troubleshoot assigned area to deal with any issues on‑site.
  • Assist the Community Events Administrator with other beverage management duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Available to work July 4 and July 13‑August 7.
  • Previous experience with Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Organized, self‑motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage time while working on multiple projects at once, with various deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality or beverage management or related experience.
  • Previous event experience and clerical, typing or office‑related experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use computer terminals for sustained input and processing.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to perform light lifting, moving, set‑up and breakdown tasks at special event sites.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move objects weighing 20‑30 lbs.
  • Ability to work long hours during special event operations including events that occur outside of normal business hours (nights, weekends and holidays).
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions during special events.

  • Regular attendance, as governed by and in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, procedures and laws is regarded as an essential requirement of this classification.
