We are currently looking for a Lab Technician to join our Corrosion team at our Dublin, Ohio location. This role is a key part of our growing organization and offers the opportunity to make a real impact within a dynamic, collaborative environment. The Corrosion Lab Technician Role is a critical member of the Corrosion and Fire-Retardant Resins group.  This is a team-oriented environment requires close collaboration between chemists, technicians, and technical service. The candidate for the corrosion lab technician must be well organized, professional, with good computer skills as they will be responsible for maintaining the Corrosion Lab, conducting ASTM C-581 corrosion testing, writing test reports, and communicating results out to the corrosion team.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Timely completion of tasks to support projects and tech service requests
* Effectively communicate with tech service regarding completion of work requests
* Close coordination and clear communication with scientist regarding completion of tasks related to longer term projects
* Maintain the Corrosion Lab – responsible for lab hygiene and organization
* Order and stock required lab materials and resin
* Conduct ASTM C-581 corrosion testing
* Issue corrosion test reports and communicate out to the team
* Weighing and mixing solid and liquid materials
* Preparing formulations and measuring liquid and reactivity properties
* Prepare fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite panels by hand layup
* Use cutting room equipment – Cut and prepare corrosion coupons and test specimens
* Fabricate and maintain a library of ASTM C-581 corrosion coupons
* Fill customer and tech service coupon requests for field corrosion testing
* Conduct flex and tensile mechanical property analysis via Instron
* Evaluate appearance of tested corrosion coupons visually and by Data Color colorimeter
* Evaluate weight loss/gain and surface hardness (Barcol) of tested corrosion coupons
* Submitting samples to Analytical Lab for testing.
* Conduct UL-94 fire retardant testing

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

Level of education & Experience in general
* Bachelor’s degree in science (chemistry preferred) or engineering (chemical preferred)
* Must be self-motivated, well-organized, persistent, team-oriented, and adept at multi-tasking
* Good grasp of laboratory skills such as weighing, measuring, solid and liquid materials
* Excellent understanding of lab safety, use of PPE, and risk evaluation
* Must have excellent communication and observation skills
* Capable of learning and adding new skills quickly
