ALDI’s National Real Estate Services team is looking for a highly skilled refrigeration field system engineer ready to travel up to 70% of the time to support a national portfolio of stores. In this pivotal role, you will leverage advanced knowledge in CO2 refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical equipment to audit installations, oversee commissioning, diagnose complex field issues, and lead cross‑functional collaboration for technology advancements and cost‑saving initiatives.

Starting Salary: $155,250
Salary Increases: Year 2 – $165,500 | Year 3 – $176,000

Remote with up to 70% travel. Candidates should reside within the designated zone but have full flexibility within those boundaries.

• Ensures the training, development, and performance of their team’s staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce.
• Recruits and recommends qualified employees for team positions.
• Establishes, communicates, and evaluates job responsibilities and performance expectations.
• Supports International Sustainability initiatives through technology, exploration, and advancement on mechanical systems.
• Advises and works with design professionals to keep drawings accurate and up to date.
• Assesses contractor performance and training needs for ALDI Facilities and Real Estate teams.
• Engages with equipment manufacturers and vendors to address site‑specific or systemic concerns.
• Coordinates with government officials, utility companies, and suppliers on specific projects.
• Consults with stakeholders and vendor partners regarding facilities.
• Facilitates communication between store development, facilities, systems, and sustainability teams.
• Consults with leadership on the development of team strategy.
• Liaises with divisions to ensure timely and efficient communication flow.
• Attends and audits site equipment installation, start‑ups, commissioning, and preventative maintenance; provides detailed reports.
• Responds to escalation requests, diagnoses field issues, creates thorough field reports, and recommends actions.
• Provides training to Real Estate (CPMs), Facilities, Central Teams, and contractors.
• Documents all aspects of each site visit and maintains accurate electronic files.
• Optimizes Building Management & Control Systems (BMCS) for ALDI through cross‑functional collaboration.
• Creates and maintains records of cost‑saving opportunities and measures taken.
• Conducts reviews of market pricing and technology advances for critical trades.
• Utilizes Energy Reports, Leak Reports, repair records, and KPI reports to identify non‑conformities and mitigate unnecessary spend.
• Supports remote review of refrigeration and HVAC asset performance and recommends disposal/replacement per equipment guidelines.
• Provides reporting on common issues, asset retirement/replacement plans, and cost control initiatives.
• Advances mechanical (refrigeration and HVAC) prototype specifications and performance analysis.
• Manages team projects and tasks through effective prioritization, planning, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Identifies cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Serves as the primary link between team staff and leadership to ensure understanding of company goals.
• Complies with ALDI privacy, security requirements, and policies.
