The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is seeking qualified LPNs to join their team. LPNs will serve individuals who may be in the midst of a mental health crisis or substance‑use issues. Experience working with diverse populations is critical and highly preferred. LPNs will also engage with assigned families and their formal and informal supports, determining needs and strengths, and coordinating with all involved to ensure progress and that all needs are monitored and addressed.
Position: PRN (As Needed) only.
Base pay range: $23.00/hr – $25.00/hr
Final pay rate will be dependent on a combination of qualifications such as experience and education.
Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications as needed
- Administer TB Skin Test and other required tests
- Compose/consume MARS
- Assist MD or NP while on rounds
- Order labs as requested from appropriate providers
- Ensure all medications are listed on consent forms and have consumer and rounding provider signatures on a regular basis
- Answer incoming calls into the clinic and handle requests appropriately, seeking assistance from staff or supervision as necessary
- Collect, label, and package lab specimens for pickup by lab courier as needed
- Document lab results, notify providers of any critical values, and place results in patient charts
- Educate consumers on medication administered, prior to administering
- Provide support for all members of the CSU as needed
- Identify and respond to all emergencies that may arise
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Georgia LPN licensure
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse communities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office products
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines accordingly
- Physical ability to carry out duties of the position, including moving/transporting patients, furniture, and driving vehicles
Preferred Experience:
- Prior psychiatric nursing experience
