Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $30.00/hr

LOCATION: Dublin, GA

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia's Adult Outpatient Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to serve as our next Counselor. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling intake assessments related to delivery of mental health care to assigned clients at the designated site and will provide resources to patients for their individual needs.

Responsibilities of the Counselor
  • Deliver counseling & education services to consumers and their families/significant others as indicated in individualized treatment plans.
  • Provides counseling services based on the individual needs of consumers.
  • Adheres to ethical & professional counseling standards in all direct & indirect interactions with consumers, their families/significant others and other agencies.
  • Meets with consumers at established intervals to discuss progress towards goals and to make appropriate modifications to individual treatment plans.
  • Conducts initial screening interviews with consumers to appropriately identify substance abuse and other potential problems.
  • Assists consumers in developing appropriate individualized treatment interventions and goals within established time frames.
  • Facilitates & coordinates referrals to other service providers, i.e. AA, NA, CSI, and others as necessary.
  • Completes accurate progress reports & discharge summaries and distributes or communicates to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Completes & submits to appropriate personnel administrative documentation, (i.e., contact logs, caseload reports, expense reports, written evaluations, diagnostic assessment screenings) in a timely manner.
  • Complete Safety plan, suicide risk scale, and biopsychosocial assessment along with treatment plan for every consumer.
  • Attend and participate in treatment team every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30AM.
  • Help provide watchful oversight of consumers on the unit and help enforce unit rules as needed.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of psychology, social work, counseling education, human services or a related field of study
  • Active Georgia license to provide mental health services (LPC, LAPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines accordingly
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of clinically supervised counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention experience
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
