The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive medical care to inmates under the supervision of medical leadership. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating acute and emergency complaints, participating in administrative meetings, supporting cross‑coverage needs, collaborating with physicians and mental health professionals, ensuring clinical documentation and treatment align with protocols, maintaining patient privacy, contributing to quality improvement activities, coordinating emergency care and supporting psychiatric assessment.

- Schedule requirement:
Week 1 – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday;
Week 2 – Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday. - Primary care for adult male/female population.
- Completion of an accredited education program for PAs.
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience.
- Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice.
- Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
- Current DEA registration.
- Current lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA.
- Deliver acute and emergency medical care in accordance with protocols.
- Consult with physicians and manage patient transfers when clinically indicated.
- Document all findings using the S.O.A.P. method and EMR systems.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and participate in quality improvement efforts.
- Provide cross‑coverage and support psychiatric stability assessments.
