The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking to an Instructor, Computer Science position for Las Positas College in Livermore, California.

This position reports directly to the Division Dean.

Representative Duties:

Ability to teach all lower-division levels of computer science courses including C/C++, Python, Java, Data Structures, Assembly, and Unix/Linux.

A commitment to encouragement of learning and enthusiastic attitude toward teaching.

Ability to adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and a variety of teaching modalities, including distance learning.

Knowledge of teaching methods that include critical thinking and problem-solving strategies.

Willingness to assist in the development and teaching of new Computer Science courses.

Evidence of a strong commitment to remain current in computer programming and computer science with emphasis on programming languages and its pedagogy.

Commitment to working successfully as a team with other Computer Studies instructors and colleagues.

Commitment to contribute to the total operation of the Department, Division, and College.

Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships with the local community (e.g. industry, educational partners, government agencies…
