  • The Chabot‑Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Counselor (DSPS)/Instructor (Learning Disabilities Specialist) in support of Disabled Student Program and Services (DSPS) and the Learning Disability Assessment Program for Las Positas College in Livermore, California. This position reports directly to the Dean of Counseling and Student Support.

    Representative Duties
  • Provide disability‑specific counseling related to academic, personal, and career goals, disability management, and educational planning.
  • Evaluate disability documentation, identify.

    OP disability‑related functional limitations, and determine appropriate and reasonable accommodations through an interactive process consistent with ADA, Section 504, and Title 5 regulations.
  • Prepare, administer, and interpret standardized assessment instruments and review medical, psychological, and educational documentation to determine students’ eligibility for Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS), including learning disability eligibility where appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, review, and monitor Student Academic Accommodation Plans, Short‑term Education Plans, and Comprehensive Education Plans; evaluate student progress toward educational goals.
