Resource Allocator - Airside Logistic - Emiratization

dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services across five continents. We operate in 38 countries and 136 airports globally.

Maximise the utilisation of resources and provide a dynamic resource allocation plan by optimally allocating the key operational resources including manpower, equipment and facilities on the day of operation. Ensure that the allocation of resources is undertaken independently, without prejudice and in-line with the planned business needs, the dynamic real-time operational demands and the unscheduled customer requirements whilst achieving the targeted levels of the current Service Level Agreements.

Provide an independent view regarding the most effective utilisation of all resources.

In this role you will:

• Undertake the allocation activities in 3 phases:
• Pre-planning: consider expected demands, schedules and rostered resources; pre-plan the allocation of tasks 24-7 hours in advance of the shift as per the agreed timetable and department specifics.
• Shift allocation planning: during the shift, prior to and/or at the start of the appropriate shift, consider the actual availability of resources including manpower, equipment and facilities; re-check the pre-plan and undertake the detailed allocation of all resources ensuring allocation is according to load.

Real-time allocation: take into account resource availability and the dynamic operational environment; undertake real-time allocation of resources in line with actual loads. Actively monitor task progress and adapt allocation plans due to differences between actual and planned times, and handle unscheduled demands such as delays.

• Improve operational efficiency and productivity by using specialist knowledge of decision support systems (including Resource Management System (RMS) Real-Time Control (RTC), Multi-Access Check-In System (MACS), Management Information System (OPERA) and other relevant IT systems) to create, communicate and execute the most effective resource allocation plan.
• Work with the operational shift in-charge by providing expert advice, input and direction to respond to dynamic changes during the shift (e.g., staff sickness or absence); review allocation plans and recommend replacements or overtime as needed. Update the administration section regarding staff non-attendance.
• Communicate the resource allocation plan to resources directly or via the operational shift in charge and monitor progress of assigned tasks.
• Ensure robust and effective resource allocation plans are in place and utilised during scheduled and unscheduled system outages.
• Collaborate as part of a team of resource allocators to ensure smooth handover and coverage across shifts and departments; monitor effectiveness and provide ongoing reviews and recommendations to management.

Dnata, EKAS, Skycargo

• Monitor the effectiveness of the allocation plan and continually feed back recommendations regarding roster solutions and resource engagement standards to the relevant resource planning team. Keep up-to-date on service and resource levels through coordination with standards and procedures staff, line managers and supervisors. Maintain the master list of staff qualifications to improve allocation effectiveness.
• Maintain regular coordination with resource planning and IT to ensure decision support systems deliver results and are configured to operational needs; stay up-to-date with system functionalities relevant to allocation.
• Emirates Flight Training Academy

• Develop and manage medium- and long-term resource planning for aircraft, flying instructors and simulators, considering historical weather, instructor qualifications, availability, aircraft serviceability, metrics, days of operation per week, projected student intake, training program syllabi and daylight hours. Roll out a performance dashboard to assess efficiency of flight operations.
