Job Description Why this Role Matters?
This role is essential to ensuring the continuous maintenance, reliability, and safe operation of our STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) assets. By bringing strong technical expertise in electrical and automation systems, the Electrical Technician helps prevent equipment failures, supports operational efficiency, and upholds the highest safety and performance standards. Their proactive approach directly contributes to the plant’s smooth functioning and overall service reliability.
WhatYou’ll Drive
- Perform maintenance of STP assets, including screens and wash compactors, grit extraction systems, blowers, aerators, MCC rooms, control systems, and related equipment.
- Carry out tank cleaning activities with proper risk assessment and implementation of necessary mitigation measures.
- Overhaul, repair, and replace components of electrical and automation systems as required.
- Conduct infrared camera inspections of panels and electrical components to identify potential issues.
- Assemble machinery or electrical components according to specifications and operational requirements.
- Perform repairs with a strong focus on achieving maximum reliability and minimizing downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Execute thorough preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Clean and lubricate machinery components to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct megger testing of motors and document findings.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings accurately to support maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in control rooms, MCC rooms, and all electrical installation areas.
- High school diploma/certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Certification from a vocational or trade school is preferred.
- Good knowledge of tools, techniques, and terminology associated with the electrical and instrumentation trade.
- Basic understanding of health and safety requirements at the plant.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
