Job Summary

The Sales Executive in the FMCG industry will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s customer base within a designated territory. The role involves identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities, developing strategic sales plans, and meeting sales targets. The Sales Executive will work closely with retailers and other partners to ensure product availability, visibility and promotion in the market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the FMCG market, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Job Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales targets and objectives within the assigned territory.
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential markets for the company’s products.
  • Manage sales operations, monitor day-to-day activities, including checks on prospective clients, negotiations and design of competitive sales packages.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to stay informed of competitors’ activities, market trends and consumer needs.
  • Coordinate with the category team to ensure effective product placement and promotion.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure product availability in all relevant outlets.
  • Promote the company products to new and existing clients and secure new and repeat business by networking at various sales and corporate events.
  • Implement promotional activities and ensure in-store fundamentals are executed as per each brand guideline.
  • Adhere to the journey plans and coverage plan and ensure customers are maintained for steady growth.
  • Identify opportunities to increase share of shelf (SOS) and brand visibility at the store level.
  • Handle market returns efficiently and manage to reduce wastages to the required level.
  • Identify potential customers and ensure they are in line with the strategy of the Business.
  • Prepare documents related to sale and support contracting activities such as purchase agreements, contracts, etc. in coordination with the Legal department.
  • Maintain and file all related documents and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Provide customers with clarifications, answer queries, provide requested information and follow up with customers.
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasting on a periodic basis, discuss inefficiencies related to the performance of sales; prepare sales reports and summaries frequently.
  • Evaluate customers and perform background checks to ensure customer falls within the Business Unit’s guidelines.
  • Ensure all logistics related to sales orders and delivery are in place. Coordinate with logistics team to ensure smooth delivery operations.
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables from clients.
Functional / Technical Competencies
  • Solid understanding of sales principles, including account management, relationship building and sales strategy.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems for managing client data and tracking sales activities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple accounts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build client relationships and close sales.
  • Analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed decisions that support business growth.
  • Good proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Complete knowledge of MS Office.
