OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Business Development person to drive growth within targeted industry verticals. The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of proven experience, strong industry relationships, exceptional communication skills, and a consistent track record of achieving revenue and gross profit (GP) targets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities, build long-term client partnerships, and deliver impactful sales outcomes.
Responsibilities1. Sales & Revenue Growth
Government & Regulatory Bodies
- Develop and execute vertical-specific sales strategies to achieve annual revenue and GP targets.
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within assigned industry verticals.
- Expand wallet share with existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling solutions.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts within the assigned vertical.
- Conduct regular business reviews to understand customer needs and propose solutions.
3. Market & Industry Intelligence
- Stay current with industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
- Analyze market potential and develop new strategies to penetrate emerging segments within the vertical.
4. Strategic Planning
- Develop annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance reports.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to develop tailored solutions.
- Ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent
- 5-7 Years of sales experience with minimum 3 years in a Freight Forwarding company
- Exposure to Ocean and Air Freight Forwarding Sales
- Experience in managing sales for a region
- Proven track record of achieving revenue and GP targets consistently.
- Ability to analyze numerical data and understand components, relationships, find patterns and draw conclusions.
- Basic knowledge of Cargo Wise
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of people; can effectively present information in one-on-one settings.
- Strategic thinking with analytical problem-solving abilities.
