Job Purpose:

To manage and control fruit and vegetable store operations to achieve budgeted sales and gross profit, ensure effective inventory control, maintain quality standards, and supervise both store staff and the buying team for smooth and profitable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Gross Profit (GP) Management
  • Achieve budgeted sales and GP targets for the F&V department.
  • Analyze daily sales and margins and take corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure proper pricing, promotions, and product availability to maximize revenue.
Inventory & Stock Control
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages, overstocking, and excess wastage.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices and minimize shrinkage.
  • Review stock variances, slow-moving items, and wastage reports.
Staff Management (Store Operations)
  • Allocate daily, weekly, and monthly targets to store staff.
  • · Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower at all times.
  • · Monitor staff performance, productivity, attendance, and discipline.
  • · Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and operational SOPs.
  • · Coordinate staff training and on-the-job guidance.
Buying Team Supervision
  • Supervise and guide the buying team in daily and planned purchasing activities.
  • Ensure buying is aligned with sales trends, stock levels, and GP targets.
  • Review purchase quantities, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with buyers to ensure timely availability of quality produce
Quality, Display & Merchandising
  • Ensure freshness, quality standards, and attractive product displays.
  • Monitor handling, storage, and temperature control of F&V items.
  • Reduce quality-related losses through proper supervision.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with store management, finance, HR, IT and JGM.
  • Prepare and review sales, GP, wastage, inventory, and buying reports.
  • Support internal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
