Waitress

Duties

• Greet guests, escort them to tables, present menus, and take food and drink orders, ensuring accuracy.
• Communicate orders to the kitchen, ensure accuracy, and deliver food and beverages to customers promptly.
• Memorize the menu to answer questions and make recommendations, and upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks.
• Set and reset tables, and ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and presentable.
• Check on guests throughout their meal, handle complaints professionally, and process payments accurately.
• Perform various shift duties like rolling silverware, clearing tables, and following all health and safety standards.

• Grade 12.
• At least 3+ years high‑end hotel/restaurant experience.
• A friendly demeanour and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide attentive service.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, attention to detail, and good memory.
• A willingness to collaborate with other staff members.
• The ability to stand for long periods and carry heavy items, especially during busy shifts.
• Food knowledge, basic math skills, and the ability to use point‑of‑sale (POS) systems are often necessary.
